Vehicles in German City Discovered Smeared with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Authorities stated they were notified by a man who discovered a vehicle in Hanau smeared with red-colored fluid

Approximately fifty cars have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they stated in a official communication.

Police report they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a individual observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued substance.

The fluid had been drawn in the pattern of a banned symbol, they reported.

Police then located multiple other marked vehicles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Law enforcement report early analysis suggest the liquid was likely blood from a person.

"Currently there is no lead as to where it came from; investigators are currently not cognizant of any injuries in connection with the occurrence," they commented.

City officials stated they were trying "to solve the case" and have asked to the residents for tips.

A senior political figure stated the vandalism left him without words and needed to be solved promptly.

"This incident strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack half a decade ago," he stated on a platform, mentioning the murder of nine people by a shooter aiming at people of migrant background in 2020.
